Product Description
Grey from Vitripiazza’s Anno Lite range offers a modern hue of light grey porcelain slabs. These sophisticated paving slabs feature a unique pattern blending mid and light grey shades, with cool undertones mimicking natural stone.
The vitrification process this porcelain paving undergoes makes it a robust, high quality, long lasting and strong paving option. Resistant to moss, salt, mould and pesticides and also non absorbent, frost proof and easy to clean.
The consistent body colour of this paving makes it ideal for bullnosing, if desired.
Brand Information
The origins of Talasey Ltd are founded in the history of its leading product brand, Natural Paving, which was established in 2004. Natural Paving (UK) Ltd became established after identifying a gap in the market for high quality, ethically sourced natural stone to the domestic landscaping market. Taking an early lead in this field the company quickly began supplying to Builders Merchants and Contractors UK wide.
Natural Paving's commitment to excellent quality and customer service has led to Natural Paving's current ranking as the number one independent supplier of natural stone to the UK landscaping industry, with full UK coverage, activities in Europe and a sister company in America, Natural Paving USA.
As Natural Paving grew, new product brands evolved with Pavetuf (2013), Vitripiazza (2014), Baksteen (2015), Luxigraze (2017) and Resiscape (2017). With such a diverse range of landscaping products Natural Paving was no longer the right 'umbrella' brand to encompass such an impressive array product brands and so the Talasey Ltd came into effect in 2017, as distributors of all the afore mentioned product brands, truly 'changing our landscape'
CE Marking and Declarations of Performance
Following an extensive and rigorous testing process in 2013, the complete Natural Paving range of flagstones, block paving, walling and accessories is fully accredited with CE Marking and come with official Declarations of Performance (DOPs). The tests were completed as part of the transition to the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR), which came into force on 1st July 2013 and requires that all products covered by a Harmonised European Standard (hEN) or European Technical Assessment (ETA) carry CE Marking to state their performance characteristics.
Material Information
Porcelain and Vitrified Description:
Porcelain and vitrified paving is a manmade paving material, constructed from naturally occurring kaolin clay materials and minerals such as quartz and feldspar which is then pressed into moulds under high pressure to create uniform tiles. The tiles are then dried to remove any excess moisture. The tiles are fired at 1200 Celsius to offer an extremely hard-wearing and low-maintenance paving product suited to both indoor and outdoor applications. Once the tiles have been fired, they may be treated with a variety of finishes, such patterns and designs to create different looks and textures.
Porcelain paving is incredibly strong and resistant to wear and tear. It can withstand heavy foot traffic, harsh weather conditions, and even freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or fading. Its low water absorbancy means it attracts very little residue or algae and is stain and fade resistant, however regular gentle brushing and general maintenance is requied to remove surface grime and dirt. Vitrified products are lightly textured to improve slip resistance and the dimensions are more accurate than those seen with natural stone paving. Porcelain paving comes in a wide range of colours, textures, and finishes, making it easy to find the perfect match for any design scheme. It can be made to look like natural stone, wood, or other materials, without the maintenance requirements or expense of those materials.
Porcelain and Vitrified Colours:
The colours of this porcelain are uniform with a subtle, evenly distributed variation in accordance with the precise design of the product. Many of the products are designed to have a similar appearance to natural stone, wood or mosaic tiles although other designs are very plain coloured.
Technical Terminology with Porcelain Paving:
Edge Finish:
Rectified: With porcelain paving, the accuracy of the dimensional tolerances depend on whether the paving is 'Rectified' or 'Non Rectified'. With rectified paving, it is cut to size after firing in the kiln meaning there will a smaller tolerance between the size of individual paving slabs within the batch. This tolerance may be up to 2mm +/-.
The actual slab dimensions are nominal and can be smaller than the stated measurements by up to 5mm, however the variations between slabs will only be 2mm +/-. It is best practice to use the same batch number when laying porcelain paving as this will ensure the variation in sizes between the slabs is minimal.
Non Rectified: With porcelain paving, the accuracy of the dimensional tolerances depend on whether the paving is 'Rectified' or 'Non Rectified'. With non rectified paving, it is cut to size prior to firing in the kiln and may expand or contract during firing.
As a result, the dimensional differences between each paving slab may be up to 5mm +/- and jointing allowances will need to be gauged accordingly. It is also important to note that slab sizes are nominal and may be up to 5mm smaller than those stated. It is best practice to use the same batch number when laying porcelain paving as this will ensure the variation in sizes between the slabs is minimal.
Body Colour:
Full Bodied: With full bodied porcelain, the colour of the 'biscuit' layer or body of the stone is made in the same colour as the uppermost face. Should a chip appear on the surface of the stone, the underneath layer showing though would be a good match to the uppermost face, although would not have the same pattern, if applicable. It is also preferable to use full bodied porcelain paving where an exposed edge is required, such as when bullnosing an edge as some porcelain will have a central vein running horizontally through the stone which is often more visible on Colour Bodied stone than Full Bodied porcelain.
Colour Bodied: With colour bodied stone, the colour of the 'biscuit' layer or body of the stone is a similar tone to the uppermost face. This is beneficial only if surface damage were to occur, as any surface chips showing the underneath layers of stone would be a similar tone to the uppermost face.
Important Installation Information:
- When laying porcelain paving, you must apply priming slurry to the reverse side of each slab prior to laying on a wet mortar bed. As porcelain is such a low porosity material, it will not properly adhere to the mortar without the added benefit of the priming slurry.
- When cutting porcelain paving, you must use a specific porcelain cutting blade and use a wet cutting saw to prevent the stone from cracking. Cut slowly and try to avoid heat build up or considerable vibration.

Porcelain and Vitrified Characteristics:
Porcelain and vitrified products are manufactured from naturally occurring aggregates, cement and binders, all of which are subject to colour and texture variation. Sizes are nominal and may vary and there may be dimensional tolerances affecting size and thickness in accordance with British Standards. With larger size pavers and especially linear styles, bowing may occur. It is recommended to install using crossover intervals of a third instead of a half. Variation in colour and dimension may occur between batches of the same stone, although this type of material is relatively consistent in colour tone. Some manufacturers include the pointing allowance in the individual slab sizes whereas others include the pointing allowance in the overall pack coverage and as with all paving materials, dimensional variances may occur. The product images shown are as accurate as photographic processes allow and may appear differently in accordance with lighting conditions and screen calibration in addition to the natural variation occurring between batches. Images may not be a true representation of a particular product size, use or laying pattern. Descriptions provided offer a combination of the manufacturer's and our own opinion of the product's features.
